Nick Lockett spent 15 years in the offshore finance and banking industry including a number of years as a fund manager and as a compliance officer. He then re-qualified as a barrister. As a barrister he practiced a number of areas including intellectual property, commercial & contract law as well as finance law. He was the first barrister in Europe to specialise in internet law in 1993 before most people even knew what the internet was! In 2001, he re-qualified as a solicitor and worked for top American law-firm Sidley & Austin and McDermott McDermott Will & Emery/Stanbrook LLP) in Brussels.

Subsequently he founded his own law firm which became part of ADL Legal Solicitors. He also speaks at 20-25 events annually in the UK and abroad on various legal subjects and is author of over 25 law books.

Nick advises commercial, technology, finance, media, and design houses as well as other types of company and undertakes non-executive corporate roles and has taught at Oxford university summer commercial contracting & IT courses and at IT & Internet courses at the Shrivenham Police Forensic Training college. As well as being an internet specialist, he is also exceedingly knowledgeable about blockchain, cryptocurrencies and artificial intelligence. His book “Artificial Intelligence – Law and Ethics” is due to be published in 2019.
